February 2009

Please take a moment to read the items below. There are a lot of things to pass along.

Tutoring -
The kids continue to do well. We have had a number of kids get progress reports and report cards lately and it is wonderful news!!! As the year goes on we will get more and more crowded. Please make sure you help us keep the lobby quiet. NO CELL PHONES OR LOUD CONVERSATIONS. If the weather permits, we would like to have the progress report conversations outside. We appreciate your help in keeping a quiet learning environment.

Progress Reports will come out the week of FEB. 23rd.

Reminders:

If you need to cancel an appointment you must do so before 10am the day of tutoring. After 10 we need to pay our employees for their time and preparation.

When you are ready to lessen days or drop entirely, you must give a two week notice. The deposit you put down when you signed up will pay for your last two weeks. If you drop without notice, the deposit is non-refundable. This ensures the tutor gets a two week notice and allows our office staff to know about upcoming changes in availability.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please leave a message or note for Erin.

Seedlings:

We will have our Valentine Parties on Feb 12 and 13. Your child may bring cards and simple treats for their classmates. We will do a small Valentine exchange during class. Lists will be coming home the week of Feb. 9th.

We have finished testing our 4 year old classes. They are doing amazing!! We will be giving you the results to look over. There will be no parent meeting this time, but if you have any questions, you can ask Erin and she will go over the results with you. We will also be giving you a form to sign so your child can bring home a study ring. The ring will have ABC letters to practice or Sight Words. Your child needs to bring the ring to class every day!!!

We were reviewing our safety and disaster drills the last few weeks. The kids did great. We discussed safe zones, not screaming, lining up quickly, listening to teachers, and sitting on the hill for pick up. As a reminder, if there is an emergency we will remove the children from the building as quickly and safely as possible. We need your help by remaining calm and orderly as you come to check on and pick up your child. Make sure you never just take your child without signing out. This will cause panic. Only people listed on your child's contact card will be allowed to pick up your child. They will need to show ID if we don't know them.
